Abstract

Background Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by glucose levels exceeding normal and disturbances in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins caused by a relative deficiency of the hormone insulin. The purpose of this case study is to increase the author's insight and mindset in providing nursing care to Mrs. R.H's clients through the nursing process approach and analyzing the gap between theory and implementation. The method used in the case study is a case study method with a nursing care approach that includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing. The results of the case study found in the client, Mrs. R.H. The client came in a state of fainting, weakness, dizziness, continuous sleepiness, itching on the skin, shaking and sweating. And there were 3 nursing problems, the first diagnosis was blood glucose level instability related to hypoglycemia, the second diagnosis was sleep pattern disorder related to anxiety, the third diagnosis was skin integrity disorder related to diabetes mellitus. Based on these results, the conclusion of this case study is that Mrs. R.H's problem has 3 diagnoses, namely the first diagnosis of blood glucose level instability is partially resolved, the second diagnosis of sleep pattern disorders is resolved, the third diagnosis of skin integrity disorders is resolved. Suggestions for clients to always pay attention to a healthy and regular lifestyle for treatment and comply with all recommendations conveyed by health workers.
