Abstract

Introduction: Objective: The aim of this case study is to implement an effective cough intervention in pneumonia patients with ineffective airway clearance problems. Method: Case study with a qualitative research approach which allows researchers to investigate specific events, situations, more case studies only focus on one further unit, where the unit refers to an individual, family, group, community or agency. Results: Based on the results of data analysis on patients, a diagnosis of ineffective airway clearance was obtained. After carrying out treatment for 3 x 24 hours, respiratory tract clearance improved as indicated by increased effective coughing, decreased sputum production, decreased wheezing, decreased dyspnea, decreased anxiety, improved respiratory frequency, improved breathing patterns. Planning and implementation are carried out according to patient needs and client evaluations are completed. Conclusion: Based on the results of research that has been carried out, researchers conclude that effective cough intervention can speed up the healing process.
